How it works
What are the effects of photodamage on your skin?
As your skin ages and is exposed to UVA and UVB rays, the turnover of skin cells slows significantly, throwing off the balance between the growth of healthy new cells and the sloughing of old, damaged cells. Additionally, collagen and elastin begin to break down, causing the skin to lose resilience resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. Daily exposure to UV light then accelerates this aging process and may cause uneven coloring.

The products in the Nu-Derm System are clinically proven, prescription-strength, ingredients that work at the cellular level to improve your skin cell function. Products purchased from a retail store are cosmetic-based products that do not contain prescription-strength ingredients.
How often should I visit my dermatologist, plastic surgeon or other skin care professional when using the Nu-Derm System?

Can the Nu-Derm System be used if I will be in the sun (i.e. at sporting events or at the beach)?
Keeping in mind that extended sun exposure damages the skin, it is suggested that you avoid prolonged sun exposure without protection. While on the system, you can participate in normal outdoor activity, however, your skin may be sensitive to the sun and heat. It is very important to always wear a sunscreen, like the Healthy Skin Protection SPF 35 and/or the Physical UV Block SPF 32 in the Nu-Derm System, and reapply sun protection every few hours while exposed to the sun.

Each product in the Nu-Derm System is specifically designed to work together to provide you with the best results. When used as a system, the prescription-strength ingredients work to effectively balance the pH level of your skin and penetrate into the layers of your skin for superior results. Your skin care professional will guide you in using the system based on their assessment of your needs.

PREPARE
STEP 1
Obagi Nu-Derm Gentle Cleanser or Foaming GelWash your face with the recommended cleanser, rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry. Avoid rubbing your skin with a towel.
STEP 2
Obagi Nu-Derm TonerPut the Toner on a cotton pad and apply to your entire face. Do not rinse.
CORRECT
STEP 3
Obagi Nu-Derm ClearMeasure 1/2 –1 gram and apply evenly to your entire face, avoiding the eyes, extending to the hairline, over the ears and ending with a feathering motion. Note: If you have dark skin, use Clear on your entire face once a day, preferably in the morning, and apply at night only on the darkest areas.
