Fractional Resurfacing Pixel Laser Treatment
This is DEFINITELY one of our favorite laser treatments when it comes to patients who want to achieve results such as smoother skin, less wrinkles and fine lines, decrease large pores, correct uneven pigmentation and sun damage.. and especially acne scars and surgical scars.
Its a new treatment using a 2940nm Erbium YAG laser to resurface the superficial layer of the skin. The Pixel technology produces less epidermal ablation and less thermal damage thus promoting rapid healing. The advantage of this machine is that it gives very good visible results after each session with only a minimal downtime of 3 days on the everage because of the "pixel" technology.
Sessions take around 20 minutes and this may be used on the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands... and we usually do this to patients every 3 to 4 weeks for 3 to 4 sessions depending on the area and condition to be treated.
How fractional skin resurfacing works:
Laser skin resurfacing is most typically used to minimize uneven texture, fine lines and acne scars, particularly around the eyes and mouth, though the process may be performed on the whole face if desired. Laser resurfacing treatments can also be used to treat uneven pigmentation.
The Pixel laser removes any damaged outer skin layers and then encourages the production of new skin cells in the underlying layers. This is a safe and effective outpatient procedure that usually gives the patient healthier, younger-looking skin.
Am I a good candidate?
The fractional skin resurfacing process works for most patients who want to treat wrinkles, discoloration, acne scars, sun damage or otherwise refresh the texture of their skin. Patients with more severe scarring may require further procedures to get the results they want. It's best to have realistic expectations of what Pixel can do for you.
What results will I get?
The process of vaporizing outer layers of skin will leave some redness in the treated areas. Within the next day, you can expect to see tiny holes forming, which will begin to disappear as the skin starts peeling three to five days out. By the end of the first week, your skin will have healed, and should be showing immediate changes.

This Laser Treatment produces thousands of tiny but deep columns of treatment in your skin, known as microscopic treatment zones. This treatment eliminates old epidermal pigmented cells. For every microscopic zone the laser targets and treats intensively, it leaves the surrounding tissue unaffected and intact. This "fractional" treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once, using the body's natural healing process to create new, healthy tighter tissue to replace skin imperfections.
